Anil Kumar

Prof. Anil Kumar received his Master degree in Bio-chemistry and PhD degree in Bio-technology from the University of Mysore, India. He did his postdoctoral training at the Unit on Retinal Vascular Neurobiology (URNV) and at the Unit on Neuron-Glia Interactions in Retinal Disease (UNGIRD) of National Eye Institute/NIH. In 2016 he joined the faculty of the State Key Laboratory of Ophthalmology as a Professor and Investigator. Dr. Kumar has published many scientific research papers in peer reviewed journals.  His research mainly focuses on understanding the role of PDGF-D in physiological and pathological angiogenesis and to understand how cellular interplay leads to Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and diabetic retinopathy (DR).
